TM has asked us North Texans to host the 4th TCM Shoot, and we are happy to ablige.
Laurenmarlowe & I met up with Mylife at his shared lease property. We decided that the best date would be this last weekend next year. The weather should be great and the TX State Fair will still be open for those that might want to attend.
The property is a very large wooded area next to a river. It's less than five miles NE of exit 280 of I45 on E. Belt Line Road.
There is plenty of room for camping and we can set up as many as 3 isolated ranges and a free for all along the river. There are gongs along the river edge at 300+ yards also. There are no range nazi's, but the owner has asked for $16 a head for the weekend use of it. He promised to provide picnic tables and exclusive use.
The road in is a bit rough and there is a steep but short hill. So anyone without a high clearence vehicle will have to park up top and we will caravan them in. Or for the daring, I have a winch to pull ya back up.
There will be a modest latrine / shower tent set up as well as a fire pit and some cooking equipment, grills, screen tent, and a 7K watt generater if anyone needs power for their camper. It's a good size parcel, so folks can camp away from the shooting area on flat land near trees or in open area. Plenty of room for dogs too!
There are motels within 10 miles in Seagoville. Mylife wants to reserve a private room at the "Cotten Gin" in Crandall for diner after the shoot for those that prefer not to camp cook. Besides the great food, it also has free WiFi.

I'll post some pics of what I have mentioned.
Would y'all jump in here and give us some feedback? Please??
We want to do right by y'all and TC |

As I told you guys in FReepMail ~ I like the idea of camping out. It has been forever since Eaker & I have camped, we are gonna have to brush the dust & rust off our equipment.
This would be the weekend of the 3rd?
The only problem I see with having dinner at a restaurant after the shoot, is some folks will want to drink a beer or two once the guns have been put away AND some folks may not want to wait until dinner time to go out to eat. In the past, all the shooting was finished around 2:00. If everyone agrees they want to go to the restaurant, then reservations should be made around 3:00.
Will the camp area be available on Friday night?
Mega Thanks to our Dallas FReepers for hosting the next TC Shoot! _________________ The stupid goat is MIA. I'm not sad. |

Camping will be the plan for the weekend. Will check the calender, but the date is about right.
Mylife's notion of dinner out at the Cotton Gin is solitare, but well intentioned for the city type folks. I prefere to camp out and cook out at the land.
Let's make it a side dish ta pass and bring yer own meat to grill (or share)
I'm in for the camping and not going anywhere but home till it's over. I'll be setting up camp early friday. so if'n y'all want to take the day off and join in, that would be most kind!

I like the weekend camp out & cook food there idea. Maybe, like in the past, we can do dinner out on Friday night.

Unless someone comes up with something different, it will be used on the new thread.
Does anyone really want shirts and stuff? |
